As R develops by accumulating a large number of libraries it becomes harder to find the best solution to simple problems. Often, many libraries will offer solutions to a problem but the quality of the solutions and their applicability to specific circumstances varies widely. An example is plotting error bars. A google(TM) search of the CRAN site will reveal many solutions but many of them run into a variety of problems. It is useful to maintain a list of solutions to common problems. A wiki allows collaborative updating of the solutions.
